Guobin was so
stressed in his studies that he even dreamt of himself being
forced to revise his work. Although his mum was also pressurised
by her colleagues, she worked hard without a word of complaint.
The mathematics teacher gave her best in teaching the EM3
students. No matter how hard she tried, the students still
could not understand the subject. To make things worse, Wenfu
caused troubles during her lesson. She complained to the principal
and requested to be transferred out of the class.
The examination was during near. All the parents were busy
helping their children to prepare for the examination. No
matter how hard Guobin's mum tried to teach him the mathematical
problem, he just could not understand. His mum blamed him
for not paying attention and that his mind was only on drawing.
She also told him that drawing would bring him nowhere in
the future. This hindered him from developing his talent in
this area.
Wenfu could not spend time on revising his work because he
needed to help his mum in her hawker stall, and to take care
of his younger brother. In the end, he decided to give up
his revision. Terry was considered as the most fortunate one
among the three. Not only did he have a private tutor, his
mum also prepared tonic for him. However, he lacked confidence.
Hence, his mum taught him some shortcuts to get good grades
during the examination.
Guobin's mum thought that working hard could earn her a chance
to be promoted. Instead, the boss decided to promote a newly
recruited fresh graduate. This, once again, proved to her
the importance of a degree certificate, and her expectations
for Guobin to do well in his studies heightened as a result.
The colleagues suggested to her to resort to corporal punishment
as that was what they thought could help a child to buck up.
The examination day finally arrived. Would the three be able
to achieve the grades they were expected to get? |
