Background:
Due to the lack of communication he has with his parents, Tom
expresses all his pent up emotions and frustrations in his blog.
He later obtains first prize in an online journal writing competition.
He had hoped that this recognition from winning first prize
would gain praise from his mother. Little did he imagine that
his mother would reprimand him instead. This adds on to the
drift between Tom and his parents, and him becoming more rebellious.
His rebellion almost causes a calamity.

Tom¡¯s pent up emotions and constant inability to express his
feelings outwardly has resulted in his dislike of speaking to
anyone apart from his friends, to whom he can talk to about
anything. He also has a look of anger in his eyes. Tom regards
his younger brother as an enemy and feels that his regular reprimands
from his parents are the result of his brother telling on him.
